New Website

WE have been working hard at making our website very user friendly for consumer to store owner. Please check out our revisions we have been doing. We added a Project tab, this is where you can come as often as you'd like and print off class instruction sheets on many of our albums. TVWeekly.com released our webisode and I hope this helps show how easy our product is to work with. Also, all the possibilities you can do are absolutley endless!! I hope you find your visit to our site very useful. Check back later today to see the NEW class instruction sheet we will be offering. It is the album showed at the end of TVWeekly.com webisode. Very easy to do, and beautiful when done!! Thank you for taking the time to read our blog. I look forward to showing you many more ideas and techniques along the way. Our GREAT designers have been hard at work. Jackie

Tips for Clear Scraps Products!

Thank you to all for finding our product, now let me let you in on a secret or two about our product! When you buy Clear Scraps, the protective coating is still on each piece, & on BOTH sides. We place a sticker on the back, notifying you to remove plastic coating before embellishing. (You don't want us to remove it for you, as it could get scratched in shipping :)) You will want to start to to peel the coating off by rubbing a hole in the coating with your finger nail, once you have a hole started in the coating, take your finger nail and peel it right off!
If you have any "coating strays" along the edges, no problem, just by sliding your finger nail along the edge, it comes off with ease. This is from the heat of the machine cutting them, and the plastic sticking to the edge. (We LOVE having smooth edges!!) See how crystal clear it is under that protective coating, that is what were after so we can start manipulating this product & have some FUN!!
If necessary, feel free to run your Clear Scraps Product under warm water to clean away any finger prints you may have just put on it! We all want a clean slate before we begin, as with "Acrylic" you can see through it, right?? Once you have it cleaned, just take a non abrasive towel (we say a baby birp rag) and dry it off! That is it!! Now you are ready to ink it, emboss it, Crop a dile it, alcohol ink it, EVEN SEW IT!! Yes, our designers have been "sewing" paper right on the product! (I am sure pics will be coming!!) That is what a "Clear Scrap" Item looks like when you are ready to dive in the "Acrylic" craze!!

I hope these few little techniques help anyone who may have questions on Acrylic and what it is!! It is Fun, Easy, & Gorgeous when your done!! Please view our idea gallery for samples on our products! Till next time, Start a Clear Scraps Album Today!! Their Addicting!! Jackie

Hey everyone! We have had ALOT of requests on "how to" get started on an album. Well, I am here to give you step by step on one we just got finished using little product. It is fun, it is easy, and I am here to guide you!! Let's try a Fun, quick & Easy project for starters!!

Grab an 8x8 Clear Scraps Acrylic Album, at least 3 different Staz On ink colors, a finger dauber, as few as 3 different patterned stamps, zip dry, and some white cardstock!

Front Cover: Using Cherry Pink Staz On ink, and a finger dauber by Tsunikeo, dab ink all over the edges of the page to your liking. We inked the edges, Let it dry and touched up by layering more of the same on top of the first coat. Once your happy with the shades, take a rubber stamp and using black staz on, stamp your image in desired locations. Ink the edges of the album (and all pages) with a finger dauber and Black Staz On ink. Use glitter, stickles or any glittery glue to accent in the center of stamped image if so desired. No need to do something to the back of this page, as the inks are shown from both sides.

Page 2. Take an 8x8 piece of white cardstock, tear it in half, ink the edges and then top off with stamping images all over paper to make your own pattern. Use different colors of inks to allow a vibrant appearance. Adhere this page to the album. (We highly recommend Zip Dry Liquid glue for adhering on acrylic.)

Back side of page 2. Choose a stamp and randomly stamp image all over page. Notice how some of the images are half on the page and we did not forget the tab!!

Page 3. Choose another stamp, and stamp image all over page. We chose yet another vibrant ink color, as acrylic albums will be allowed to "see through" the whole album when closed. Place photos in desired locations, using Zip Dry if the adhesive will NOT be covered up, any tape runner if it will be covered up.

Back side of page 3. Place a photo in desired location. (Since the photo is the same size as previous page photo, you can use any tape runner since it will be covered up)

Page 4. Stamp on the right hand side of page with stamp of choice. Place a 4" x 8" white stamped cardstock on the left hand side of page. (Be sure to punch the holes back out)

Back side of page 4. Place a 3 3/4" x 7 3/4" ,stamped with white Staz On, black cardstock, using the white as a mat block. Place photos in desired locations.

Page 5. Ink the outer edges on this album with a finger dauber dauber (just like page 1) leaving a circular hole in the middle of the page. This will allow the photo to show through. Take a 6x6 white cardstock, stamp one stamp pattern on one side (this will be the side that will be seen from the BACK of the album when closed.) Place a photo on the cardstock and adhere to the INSIDE of the album page. You now have a solid white cardstock looking at you. Take a Stamp and a different color than you used on the other side of white cardstock, stamp images all over both paper and album page. Place a photo in the center of cardstock.

Now looking at your closed album, from the back, you can see all the layers and fun techniques used to accompolish this look! Finish album off by placing assorted ribbons on rings, and now go show it off! (Don't forget we want to see it too!!)

*TIP: By placing paper and photos to the inside of page 5, you will not have them fall off, or corners bend while this book is tossed from person to person! It is being protected by the back page!

I hope you enjoyed this little mini fun project and if you'd like, I can make this a habit! Post your projects and all items used, so we can come and browse through all your projects!! I would love to see what all you do. Have fun with "Acrylic" and what are you waiting for!!

I just added the NEWEST design team members!

Hey everyone, I just added the links to our newest design team members, on the blog site! I apologize that 2 of them are in grey. I can't figure it out, so I gave up. I an going to add the links to our website now! Go visit them all and tell them what a great job they have been doing! Jackie
I finally have found the time to sit and blog about CHA! It has been a complete whirlwind for us since day 1 of the show. All I can say is WOW! Our booth was busy from the time the doors opened, to the time they closed. Janet and I could not even talk to each other about who stopped by, we had to literally go out the back door to keep caught up on all the AWESOME contacts we made. I really don't know where to start. Yes I do, our design team!! Without them, we would not have all this praise on our company. Thank you guys so much! I hope you get your name out in the publishing community tenfold! You are each so very talented! Michelle Klomp, we owe you a million. Without you and your email from day 1 asking if we had a design team yet, thank you thank you thank you! We really enjoyed meeting you in person, I am just bummed we could not have spent more time with you. We will in the future. Their will be plenty of opportunities for us to be together.
Where do I start?? We are publishing our first book! The publishing company actually took our samples off our booth on day 4 and sent them straight to the photo studio. This will be a 22 page book on our acrylic and all the cool stuff you can do to our product. Don't be fooled by the "imatation" acrylic out there, ours can be dry embossed and manipulated without cracking and showing stress marks. It is a unique material we have come up with to do what we are wanting. A 2nd publishing company came to us and "borrowed" yet more samples to be included in their "current" book being printed. This should be in stores in March. We will keep you posted!!
We got a call today from our local news station. Someone leaked to the press that we are now worldwide with our sales. AWESOME! We were wanting to do a press release, just haven't had the time yet. It aired tonight on our news channel. PLEASE go to it and watch it!! www.wgem.com
We are filming (not us, Judi at Judi Kins) a WEBISODE on www.tvweekly.com on our acrylic albums. Please go there also and log in to get notified of mini classes they offer, weekly!! I will post our webisode on our site when its available. After these mini classes, you can print out the instructions for what you just watched! Be sure to check this site out! 1000's of ideas here!!
I am sure their is more, but I will stop here for tonight. PLEASE if you like our samples, pay our designers a visit and tell them GOOD JOB! We have CHA Summer to plan for now ;) :) www.clearscraps.com
Thank you for all your support by following our blog. I enjoy sharing such good news to the ones who believe in us! Especially our husbands! What a strong support team!! Jackie & Janet

We want to encourage EVERYONE to go to www.glitzdesigns.com and check out their cool stuff!  We have teamed up with them for all 2008!  Their "frosting" is to die for!  They have moldable bling that works perfect with our Clear Albums!  You will start too see this and more very soon, in our store!!  I have to go now, we have been requested to go back to the "Spell Binders" booth and demo our product, on their machines!  We may be demoing in "our new friends" at the show also!  I like to play with other machines, WAIT TILL YOU SEE THEIR NEW MACHINE!!! (hint hint) I will keep you posted as to our product with their machines!  I have to go play now!!!  Talk to you again real soon, I hoping!  Don't forget, we are at Booth #519, right inside the door!  We have an awesome booth!  Jackie
